It’s even better with the sound :

The issue is not the control arm but that it’s not properly secured on the “bearing holder” (yeah, it’s the name of the part in ETKA), don’t know why it’s this way though.

I have the car (it’s on my A4 B7 that has 330,000km) since November and definitely knew there was a big issue on this side and the “bearing holder” really looked bad in this spot (with the bolt tightened all the way in and the marks), i tried several times to push/pull horizontally and twist this arm and it was not moving at all... didn’t think to just pull vertically...

Replacement used part (that did cost only 45€ including shipping) :

And i am now waiting for the replacement rod... which did cost around 53€ including shipping, should be arriving this week :

Update : It has been fixed

I t has been fixed today and it’s definitely nice not to have the car swerve on hard deceleration and doing funny noises :)

I am glad i didn’t try to do it myself as one of the steel insert on the aluminium part (where the bottom arm goes) did “ stick” on the arm (and i didn’t buy a replacement part for this arm ) instead of the aluminium part so he had to cut the insert without touching the arm .

You’re lucky, normally those ball joints don’t want to come out.  Now that I’m thinking about it though, the ball joint shaft should have an indented ring that allows the pinch bolt to lock it in.  Was that bolt all rotted out too?

Both t he top ball joints were recent and they usually comes with new bolts so i think someone tried to fix it without changing the problematic part so the bolts were not looking scary .
